Every quarter the Sydney, Melbourne and Singapore offices vote in a new Siren Star, someone who fiercely embodies the brave and strong hearted nature of what it means to be a true Siren!
Meet Tess, Melbourne’s current star. Tess is a passionate designer with a zealous ability to fuse her artistic skills with functional and bold design techniques, creating original and striking projects.
We fired off 8 quick questions to Tess to let you in on what drives and inspires her daily:
What’s your spirit animal and why?
A toucan – bright, colourful and unique! And I have a soft spot for lush tropical rainforests.
If you were asked to redesign/refresh a product what would it be?
One universal power point. I never seem to have the right shape power point adapters when I go travelling!
What’s your ideation preference, digital or hand sketch, why?
Digital. I love being able to quickly 3D model an idea and see it come to life.
Who or what inspired you to be a designer?
My Dad who is a very talented Architect. As well as awesome designers & artists such as Diller Scofidio + Renfro, Yayoi Kusama, teamLAB, Olafur Eliasson and Es Devlin – to name a few!
If you were in the circus what would be your talent?
I would transport myself through time and back again! Like Hugh Jackman in the Prestige.
What is your most played song?
Falling Slowly by Glen Hansard
How would you describe Siren’s secret sauce?
The secret sauce is the people! Being surrounded by people who are truly passionate and excited about what they do has an infectious energy.
What is your favourite project from your time at Siren so far?
Upwell Health Collective!
