Central House was founded by two industry leaders in the flexible office space market – APSO and The Commons. Both teams collaborated to produce an exclusive, flexible workplace for businesses of all sizes.
The main premise of Central House was to support businesses at all stages of development – from a start-up to a 50-employee enterprise, the space provides solutions for all. Our brief was to create a high-end, executive co-working space that offers members a range of amenities. The aim was to feature high-quality finishes and detailing, with considered design solutions that meeting the members practical needs.
Our design response was based around the concept of a club house which was best described as an exclusive, curated space that transitioned from day to night. It is touchable luxury at its finest, with moments of surprise, mystery and revelation to create dynamic yet dramatic spaces. A space that’s desired by all, but only experienced by some.
Spanning over two levels at 101 Moray Street, South Melbourne, Central House is a luxury co-working office that is inspired by a boutique hotel. Aimed at professionals from various industries, Central House has high-end amenities that cater to both business days and after hour events. There are opportunities for independent quiet work, small business meetings, large conferences and forums or company parties, the fit-out is versatile.
Central House is so much more than an office space, it is a space that fosters and promotes community, bringing people together through strategic space planning and a range of offerings throughout the space. The design supports independent and team workspaces but also allows individuals to break away into quiet rooms, booths, break-out areas, lounges or even have a hit of golf in the golf simulator room. The high-end design also oozes a warm, welcoming and highly social atmosphere. The ground floor was designed to be available to external visitors as well as the members, where they are able to use the communal spaces, breakout and various styles of meeting and training rooms, whilst the first floor is exclusive to members, with offices, open plan dedicated desks, break-out and meeting spaces on offer.
The results speak for themselves with the project winning Silver in the Melbourne Driven X Design awards.
