Our home away from home.

How do you design the perfect workplace for one of Australasia’s leading interior design firms? Here lay the challenge… to design our own Siren Singapore studio.

Having created the Singapore business from scratch in 2012, this project represented our coming of age in the Asia region and we were determined to inspire a sense of community and create an environment that would hold true to our purpose: to enable people to thrive.

The project was our opportunity to take everything we had learnt from other client projects and translate it into our own studio environment to create a dynamic community and a home away from home for the Siren team.

We wanted to create a physical manifestation of the Siren brand philosophy that ‘it’s what’s on the inside that matters’.

Our key drivers were to bring our purpose and mission to life. Our design team took a collaborative approach, engaging with the entire team whilst staying focused on being lean and efficient, reducing waste and maximising re-use where possible. Our approach was really a form of ‘inside out’ architecture. Focusing on the people and the community first, and then expanding that to the physical form.

The studio was designed around places for purpose, focusing on flexibility, diversity of space and wellbeing. We collaborated with our suppliers and workshopped everything with the team to ensure that the space catered for everyone’s work style and helped people to be their best and to also put into play our knowledge of how to create a community and ensure multi-use and high efficiency at every step.

One of the first things you see when you enter our space is the ‘dining table’. We wanted the concept of entering a home. A place where you are welcome. That dining table also doubles as holding space when you arrive and a place for client or supplier collaborations to happen.

This project represents the expression of our insights and learnings from years of designing for clients. It’s a true example of collaboration and it’s a place where the team love to be. This is truly our home away from home.
