Quality, luxury and choice are three words used to describe the two striking building precincts of West End Glebe.
Designed by the multi-award-winning architects Turner with interiors by Siren Design, The West End Residences, developed by Roxy-Pacific (Australia & NZ), was the redevelopment of two city blocks in Glebe into a new residence precinct. Released over two stages, the project consisted of 231 apartments and terraces across the Foundry and the Arthouse building.
The project was a distinct success from both a design and commercial point of view, drawing in a new community seeking a life that pairs the rush of city living with a creative village vibe.
The vision for the design was for a modern take on Glebe’s historic brick warehouses. The look and feel of the interiors was defined by the design and architectural elements which reflect the area’s history. The design theme options ranged from a more traditional warehouse concept to a lavish and contemporary abode where art-deco architectural elements shine through, highlighting the use of curves and arches across sections of the building’s façade.
Interesting, dramatic city and local views are enjoyed from the private rooftop gardens and from almost every part of the buildings. The interior is fresh, bright, warm and inviting creating a neutral canvas for potential buyers that was move in ready or easily modified to suit personal tastes. Crisp whites, timber accents through flooring and kitchen verticals, mid grey tones through stone and feature tiling make this a local Glebe icon.
The Foundry building was the first to be released, selling 80% off the plan at launch, with The Arthouse selling just as quickly soon afterwards. The project was also a UDIA Awards 2020 Finalist for Excellence in High-Density Development.
